In the Architecture School at UFV, we are conscious of the fact that architecture is a discipline that crosses borders, and that cannot stay within one´s country of origin. An architecture who does not "get to know the world" and who is not capable of getting to know ant integrating into life beyond the familiar and most immediate enviroment is detined to become stagnant both professionally and personally. For the reason, the training that takes place in these kinds of workshops (in wich all of our students participate) cultivates a series of competencies we feel to be essential for the architect that we wish to educate, and does so in a very efficient way, by stimulating: The capacity to work in international teams. The exchange of ideas, by working on one project which takes place in different countries. The mobility of student and professor on a large scale. The broadening of personal and academic frontiers.
